Job Summary

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee the company’s financial operations, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, and support strategic financial decision-making.
  • The ideal candidate must be knowledgeable in IFRS, rendition of financial and operations report to the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN, possess strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of banking operations software is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage the general ledger and ensure accurate financial records.
  • Responsible for preparation and rendering regulatory reports to Central Bank of Nigeria CBN and other regulators.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for Board and Management.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, Tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Liaison with internal and external audits.
  • Monitor cash flow and recommend cost-saving measures.
  • Review and approve accounting transactions and journal entries.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
  • Analyse financial data and provide recommendations to improve business performance.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies, auditors, banks, and other stakeholders when necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or STEM related field.
  • Professional certification ACCA, or ACA is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years ‘post-qualification experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of banking operations software’s.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft banking operations software suits.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, taxation IFRS, and statutory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
