Role Objective

  • Our client, a reputable law firm based in Nairobi, is seeking to recruit a highly experienced Senior Associate Advocate to lead its Conveyancing and Commercial Law Department. The successful candidate will oversee high-value transactions, provide strategic legal guidance, supervise the department team, and drive client satisfaction, business growth, and long-term client relationships.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage conveyancing, corporate and commercial transactions from instruction to completion.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to the department team.
  • Review, draft and negotiate contracts, agreements and other legal documents.
  • Advise clients on conveyancing, commercial, corporate and real estate matters.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Drive business development initiatives and support client retention efforts.
  • Monitor departmental performance and ensure timely service delivery.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, operational efficiency and risk management initiatives.
  • Support knowledge sharing through legal updates, articles and industry insights.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance client experience and service delivery.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Job Specifications and Qualifications

  • LL.B degree from a recognized university.
  • Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid Practising Certificate.
  • Minimum of five 5 years experience in Conveyancing, Commercial and Corporate Law.
  • Experience handling securities, property transactions and related legal processes.
  • Leadership or management training will be an added advantage.
