About the Role:

Senior Human Resources Officer Jobs in Kalumbila Reporting directly to the Human Resources Coordinator, the Senior Human Resources Officer will play a pivotal role in supporting all HR functions to ensure seamless service delivery.

You will be instrumental in driving recruitment, employee onboarding, payroll support, and compliance with labor laws, while fostering a safe and inclusive workplace culture.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing timely, professional, and consistent HR services to all stakeholders.
• Collaborating with line managers to develop organizational structures aligned with budget requirements.
• Managing end-to-end recruitment processes through the HRIS platform, including job advertisements, interviewing, selection, reference checks, and employment contracts.
• Controlling labor costs by ensuring recruitment plans align with headcount budgets.
• Conducting inductions and onboarding for new employees and communicating payroll policies.
• Maintaining accurate HR records and employee files within the HRIS system.
• Supporting HR initiatives such as access and time management systems linked to payroll and attendance monitoring.
• Preparing and processing monthly payroll data inputs.
• Assisting supervisors and managers with disciplinary actions, grievance handling, dispute resolution, and performance management.
• Managing employee separations and exit procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance.
• Tracking and resolving outstanding HR issues within assigned departments.
• Ensuring all HR policies and practices comply with relevant Zambian legislation.
• Promoting employee engagement, organizational culture, and inclusion initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience Required To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
• At least four years of experience as a Senior HR Officer or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of the mining industry is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of contemporary HR practices and compliance standards.
• Ability to interpret and apply Zambian Labour Laws effectively.
• Proven business acumen with the ability to act as an internal consultant.
• Certification as a member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
