Purpose of the Job
The Senior Welder is responsible for performing advanced welding, fabrication, and installation tasks across the factory, ensuring compliance with food-grade standards. In addition to hands-on welding, this role involves mentoring junior welders, troubleshooting complex welding challenges, ensuring compliance with P&ID and process flow charts, and contributing to continuous improvement in the workshop.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform advanced food-grade welding and fabrication tasks (stainless steel, black steel, aluminum, cast iron, pipelines, tanks, conveyors, etc.) following P&ID and process flow charts.
Supervise and guide welders and mechanics during pipeline installation, structural welding, and repair works.
Inspect, test, and certify welding works to ensure compliance with quality standards, GMP, and safety requirements.
Plan and prioritize welding activities in coordination with maintenance, packaging, and utilities teams to minimize downtime.
Lead emergency repair jobs, troubleshoot complex welding and fabrication problems, and propose long-term corrective solutions.
Maintain proper documentation of welding works, material usage, and ensure traceability of critical repairs (especially food-contact surfaces).
Train and mentor junior welders and technicians in welding techniques, safety practices, and equipment handling.
Transport welding machines & necessary materials to the required site
Handle carefully hand tools, measuring instruments and others that company provide him to use
Participate in any emergency repairs and perform all duties of general mechanic work
Support continuous improvement projects, such as efficiency enhancement, material waste reduction, and new fabrication solutions.
Ensure strict adherence to 5S, workshop organization, and preventive maintenance of welding equipment
Responsible to report problem(S) regarding the integrated management system such as on FSMS, QMS, EMS, and OHSMS to QSHE supervisor and/or his immediate supervisor
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.
