Role Overview:

• Shipping Supervisor Jobs in Lusaka Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager or Logistics Manager, the Shipping Supervisor will oversee all aspects of outbound shipments within our warehouse.
• The successful candidate will ensure that orders are fulfilled accurately and dispatched safely and efficiently.

This role requires meticulous inventory control, proactive safety monitoring, and effective coordination of loading teams to maintain smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities Goods Preparation & Verification:

• Review delivery waybills and Material Requisition forms to determine daily dispatch needs.
• Coordinate with warehouse teams to prepare stock accurately and verify cargo quantity and quality before client confirmation.
• Present stock for final supervisory approval prior to dispatch.

Dispatch & Loading Management:

• Manage the orderly movement of transport vehicles on site, assign tasks to loading personnel, and supervise proper cargo handling to minimize damage.
• Ensure all shipments comply with documentation and delivery schedules.

Onsite Safety & Security:

Monitor loading areas to prevent safety hazards, log and report any irregularities such as damaged goods or documentation issues, and enforce strict security protocols to prevent unauthorized access and stock loss.

Site Housekeeping & Equipment Management:

• Oversee cleaning and organization of operational areas before shift end.
• Ensure tools and equipment, including pallets, straps, handcarts, and forklifts, are inspected and stored safely to maintain an efficient dispatch environment.
• Qualifications and Experience Full Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Diploma or Certificate in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Stores Management, or a related discipline.
• Proven supervisory experience in warehouse, shipping, issuing, or logistics operations.
• Membership with the Zambia Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (ZCILT) is required.

Core Skills and Competencies Inventory Management:

• Expertise in both manual and digital inventory counting, stock auditing, and reconciliation.

Leadership & Coordination:

• Strong ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and coordinate loading and dispatch activities.

Safety & Quality Focus:

• In-depth knowledge of workplace safety regulations, cargo handling best practices, and secure dispatch procedures.

Integrity & Accountability:

• High attention to detail with a commitment to operational integrity and responsibility.

Regulatory Knowledge:

• Familiarity with Zambian labor laws and occupational safety and health regulations (OSHE) applicable to warehouse environments.
