The role sits in a product-focused engineering team responsible for building and improving payment and remittance-related platforms. The successful person will combine hands-on technical depth with people leadership, delivery ownership and the ability to guide engineers through complex backend systems.
Performance Objectives for Year One

1. Lead the delivery of key backend features and platform improvements while ensuring the team maintains strong standards for quality, scalability and reliability.
2. Strengthen engineering practices by improving code review quality, release discipline, testing habits and development workflows.
3. Guide the team in applying modern backend architecture principles, including microservices, domain-driven design and scalable system design.
4. Mentor and grow software engineers through coaching, feedback and practical technical guidance.
5. Improve cross-functional delivery by working effectively with Product Owners, Business Analysts, DevOps, QA and other engineering teams.
6. Influence technical decisions across teams by bringing clear reasoning, ownership and a continuous-improvement mindset.
