Sommelier – Kruger National Park, Mpumalanga Introduction A prestigious luxury lodge in the Kruger National Park, Mpumalanga is seeking a qualified and passionate Sommelier to join its hospitality team. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver bespoke wine experiences in one of South Africa’s most iconic destinations. The role requires expertise in wine service, cellar management, and guest interaction, ensuring the highest standards of excellence in line with the company's reputation. Job Requirements Provide a consistent and bespoke wine experience for guests. Report to the General Manager and Premium Wine Department. Travel between lodges as required. Pair wines with menus and guest preferences. Host wine tastings and make wine recommendations. Manage cellar stock control and replenishment. Handle wine transfers, bulk facilities, invoicing, and administration. Train and develop staff in wine knowledge and service. Collaborate with departmental teams to ensure seamless guest experiences. Uphold company's culture of collaboration and multi‑skilling. Skills & Experience Sommelier qualification (Cape Wine Diploma or similar). WSET Level 3 or equivalent international wine course. Previous hospitality and guest service experience. Strong computer literacy (MS Office; MS Project advantageous). Excellent communication and email etiquette. Salesmanship; leadership, and management skills. Passion for wine and sound knowledge of wine. Physically fit, resilient, and able to work long hours.
