Job Summary:

  • We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Store and Inventory Officer to manage the inventory and storage of building materials for our construction company. 
  • The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of various building materials, exceptional organizational skills, and a strong ability to maintain accurate records while ensuring efficient stock levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of building materials and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records by tracking stock levels and ensuring timely replenishment of materials.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to verify accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of building materials to advise on stock needs and assist the procurement team in making informed purchasing decisions
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in building materials to facilitate informed inventory management.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to manage orders and deliveries, ensuring materials arrive on time.
  • Prepare purchase orders and communicate with suppliers regarding stock levels and reordering needs.
  • Organize and maintain storage areas to optimize space and ensure materials are easily accessible.
  • Implement effective storage solutions to preserve the quality of materials and prevent damage.
  • Ensure that all storage and handling processes comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct training for staff on safe handling procedures for various materials.
  • Prepare reports on inventory levels, material usage, and forecasts for future requirements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of inventory transactions and material usage. 

Qualifications:

  • A degree in building technology, education, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Store and Inventory Officer, preferably in the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of building materials.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
