Store Manager

BOOK STORE MANAGER – CAPE TOWN -SOMERSET
Salary: R20 000 per month

We are seeking an experienced and driven Book Store Manager to take full responsibility for the successful operation of a busy bookstore. This role requires a strong leader with a passion for books and a solid commercial mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full day-to-day operations of the bookstore
• Lead, motivate and manage staff to ensure high performance and excellent customer service
• Drive sales and implement strategies to achieve targets
• Liaise with publishers, libraries, and schools to build and maintain relationships
• Oversee stock control, merchandising, and in-store promotions
• Ensure the store environment is engaging and well-presented

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Minimum 4 years’ management experience in a bookstore or publishing environment
• Strong knowledge of books, authors, and the publishing industry
• Proven ability to drive sales and meet targets
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Well-read with a genuine passion for literature

Preferred:

• Relevant qualification or background in publishing or a related field
