Store Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the retail store.

• Ensure the store is clean, organised, fully stocked, and visually appealing.

• Implement company policies, procedures, and operational standards.

• Ensure opening and closing procedures are followed accurately.

• Monitor store performance and implement strategies to improve profitability.

• Drive sales and achieve monthly sales targets.

• Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer complaints professionally.

• Promote upselling and cross-selling opportunities.

• Monitor sales trends and implement promotional activities.

• Build strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business.

• Recruit, train, supervise, and develop store employees.

• Prepare staff schedules to ensure adequate store coverage.

• Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching.

• Motivate the team to achieve sales and operational targets.

• Manage employee attendance, discipline, and workplace conduct.

• Oversee stock ordering and replenishment.

• Conduct regular stock counts and stocktakes.

• Monitor stock movement and minimise losses due to theft, damage, or expiry.

• Investigate stock variances and implement corrective measures.

• Ensure accurate receiving and storage of deliveries.

• Manage daily cash-ups and banking procedures.

• Ensure accurate reconciliation of sales and cash transactions.

• Monitor expenses and control store costs.

• Analyse sales reports and identify opportunities for growth.

• Maintain accurate operational records and reports.

• Ensure compliance with all liquor licensing regulations and age-restriction laws.

• Verify customer identification where required.

• Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.

• Ensure all security procedures are followed to minimise shrinkage and theft.

• Conduct regular safety inspections and address risks promptly.

• Ensure shelves are fully stocked and displays are attractive.

• Implement promotional displays according to company standards.

• Monitor product pricing and promotional signage.

• Ensure stock rotation is carried out using FIFO principles.
