Job Summary

  • A Store Officer that manages and oversees the daily operations of a warehouse or stockroom.
  • They are primarily responsible for the receipt, storage, and issuance of goods, as well as maintaining accurate inventory records, preventing stock discrepancies, and ensuring the facility meets safety standards.

Core Responsibilities

  • Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages, track stock movements, and conduct regular physical counts.
  • Receiving & Issuing: Verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders, unpack items, label goods, and dispense materials based on approved requests.
  • Record Keeping: Update inventory management software or ERP systems and generate periodic reports.
  • Quality & Safety: Inspect items for damage upon delivery, ensure proper storage conditions, and enforce health, safety, and environment HSE standards.
  • Reconciliation: Identify obsolete or expired items and resolve any discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.

Key Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing and Supply, Procurement, Logistics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Tech Skills: Proficiency in using inventory management software, ERP systems e.g., SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft Office especially Excel.
  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, physical stamina, and excellent communication.
