Overall Purpose of the Job

  • To ensure the purchase of the right items at the right price, from the right source, and delivered in the right quality, right quantity, and on time to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company’s supply chain strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead procurement activities from sourcing and RFQ issuance through bid evaluation, negotiation, purchase order placement, and contract administration.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with OEMs, manufacturers, distributors, freight forwarders, and logistics partners.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to meet project schedules and customer commitments.
  • Manage international sourcing, importation, customs clearance, shipping, and local logistics.
  • Negotiate commercial terms to improve cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance.
  • Establish supplier performance measurement and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, NCDMB requirements, procurement regulations, and corporate governance standards.
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Sales, Finance, and Operations to support tenders and project execution.
  • Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain team.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Supply Chain Process to meet company’s objectives.
  • Work within established Supply Chain Procedures for requisition, processing, validation, delivery and invoicing.
  • Effective coordination of all Supply Chain activities.
  • Ensure the realization of the company’s strategic focus from a supply chain perspective.
  • Drive Line Pipes and OCTG sourcing and management team LOSOM
  • Ensure continuity of supply by maintaining effective relationships with existing sources both local & International.
  • Development of other sources of supply as alternatives or to meet emerging or planned needs.
  • Development of such technical skills to query the Nigerian Customs Claims
  • Build and maintain an effective database for tracking OEMs, Pipes and OCTG mills, OEM accredited distributors, stockists and Equipment suppliers.
  • Provide guide and support on all Major Tenders and Service Contracts.
  • Effective and cooperative relationship with relevant government regulatory agencies.
  • Putting in place Supply Chain strategies to improve the company’s competitive edge.
  • Establish and manage a data base of approved efficient Customs clearing agents.
  • Establish and manage a data base of approved efficient trucking companies.
  • Oversee the timely clearing of goods at the Nigerian Ports.
  • Ensure the training and development of staff in the department to close up identified process gaps.
  • Ensure goods are delivered on time within agreed price and fit for the customer’s purpose.
  • Maintain good relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Achieve and exceed agreed RFQs conversion to P.Os.
  • Process POs to agreed scope.
  • Maintain comprehensive filing system.
  • Maintain high degree of confidentiality and safety of documents.
  • Effectively manage all staff in the Supply Chain Department.
  • Coordinate Supply Chain Meeting
  • Oversee procurement market research.
  • Ensure continuous Supply Chain Improvement.
  • Develop and manage relationship with suppliers, locally and internationally.
  • Control inventory.
  • Manage all Supply Chain Projects.
  • Ensure ISO Compliance of Supply Chain quality
  • processes.
  • Ensure timely issuance of job descriptions and job objectives to team members.
  • Ensure timely appraisal of the performance of and giving feedback to team members.
  • Ensure the development of team members.
  • Maintain sound relationship with relevant regulatory agencies.
  • Manage trucking logistics.
  • Oversee the validation of goods and documents.
  • Expedite orders.
  • Provide feedback to potential suppliers on previously received quotations.

Requirements

  • A candidate with at least 10 years’ continuous experience in supply chain or procurement.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership position within the upstream oilfield services.
  • Demonstrated experience managing international procurement and complex logistics.
  • Experience supporting major EPC, IOC, or oilfield service projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or MBA is an advantage
  • Professional Certifications such as CIPs, CPSM, APICS/ASCM, or equivalent is desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of the delivery requirements of the E& P Companies.

  • Excellent knowledge of clearing procedures at Nigerian ports; familiarization with the 5- stage clearing process, proper computation and validation of custom duties on all imported items.
