Role Description

  • The SURF Project Control Lead & Contract Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Port Harcourt. The role is responsible for establishing and maintaining project control processes for Subsea, Umbilicals, Risers, and Flowlines SURF projects, including planning, scheduling, cost control, and progress reporting. The individual will oversee contract administration activities, such as drafting and reviewing contract documentation, managing variations and claims, monitoring contractor performance, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company standards. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with engineering, procurement, and construction teams; preparing forecasts and budgets; tracking key performance indicators; and supporting risk management and change control. The role also involves preparing management reports, participating in project review meetings, and contributing to continuous improvement in project controls and contract management practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong project controls skills, including project planning, scheduling, cost estimation, budgeting, and progress monitoring for SURF or oil and gas projects.
  • Experience in contract engineering and administration, including contract drafting, negotiation, claims management, variation orders, and contractor performance evaluation.
  • Proficiency with project management and controls tools e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, cost control software and solid data analysis and reporting capabilities.
  • Knowledge of subsea engineering or offshore project environments, with familiarity with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and HSE practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, or a related field; professional certifications e.g., PMP, project controls or contracts certifications are an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on-site in a dynamic project environment, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail.
