Voice & CCaaS Engineer | Johannesburg | Permanent
A well-established South African telecommunications and managed services provider is looking for a seasoned Voice & CCaaS Engineer to join their Infrastructure team. This is a hands-on role at the heart of a business that builds and runs real voice and contact centre solutions for enterprise clients — not a support desk position.
What you'll be doing:
You'll own the technical delivery, uptime, and evolution of the company's Voice and CCaaS infrastructure — including Broadworks environments, Oracle SBCs, and a range of CCaaS platforms. You'll handle complex escalations, support professional services deployments, engage directly with vendors, and play a meaningful role in evaluating and productising new CCaaS offerings as the market evolves. Scripting, API integration, and automation are part of the day-to-day.
What you need to bring:
- 5 - 8 years in a VoIP / Voice engineering role within a service provider environment
- 5 - 8 years hands-on experience with Linux / Unix operating systems
- Scripting ability in Python, Bash or Perl
- Solid REST API experience — design, consumption, and troubleshooting
- SQL database experience
- Exposure to CCaaS platforms such as Webex Contact Center, Genesys, NICE CXone, Five9, Talkdesk or similar is a strong advantage
- Broadworks and Oracle SBC experience is beneficial
- Experience with routers and switches in a service provider environment
