Technical Competencies & Experience:
- Prepare clear and complete audit work papers.
- Perform and document audit testing.
- Prepare financial statements, applying the accounting framework and disclosure requirements for different entity types.
- Complete CaseWare audit procedures and templates using current-year evidence, while identifying and escalating unusual matters or unresolved issues promptly.
- Progress from executing procedures to planning audit strategies, assessing engagement risks, and supervising junior clerks by the third year of training.
- Support independent review engagements and attend stock takes to test inventory existence and completeness.
- Contribute to accounting, VAT, payroll, tax, and management accounts work.
- Manage workflow and documentation systems.
- Keep the SAICA logbook updated, participate in training and development sessions, attend required CPD activities, and actively engage in career growth discussions.
