DIESEL MECHANIC or FITTER (MINING)

 

Overview: To service, repair, assemble and maintain Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM)

 

Duties:

• Receive the workshop job card and check its content for accuracy and understanding

• Attend office hours & after-hour breakdowns

• Job cards sign off

• Ensure all parts and oils used on the job are booked to job card

• Perform all tasks to OEM standards

• Perform all visual inspections, calibration work, adjustments etc.

• Inspect disassembled and dismantled parts and replace them with new or reconditioned parts

• Return parts and document the work carried out

• Perform final checks on the TMM being repaired, and that the TMM is functionally reliable

• Maintain housekeeping standards daily

• Ensure standards of Health and Safety are maintained

 

Requirements:

• Grade 12

• Trade tested Fitter or Diesel Technician

• OEM experience advantageous

• Underground Mining experience advantageous

• Minimum of 3 years post trade test experience

 

Remuneration:

R109/hr. negotiable
