EYU-ETHIOPIA

Working in close partnership with government, academic institutions and development partners, Eyu-Ethiopia designs and implements scalable solutions that strengthen health systems and improve equitable access to care.

JOB OPPORTUNITY 

Eyu-Ethiopia is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Programmes to provide strategic leadership and technical oversight across its program portfolio. The Director of Programmes serves as a member of the senior leadership team and provides strategic, technical and operational leadership for Eyu-Ethiopia's programme portfolio. The position is responsible for driving programme excellence, organisational growth, resource mobilisation, partnership development and institutional strengthening while ensuring delivery of high-quality, evidence-informed programmes.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic and Technical Leadership

  • Provide strategic leadership for the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Eyu-Ethiopia's programs and projects.

  • Ensure alignment of programs with the organization's Strategic Plan and national priorities.

  • Promote evidence-based approaches and innovation to maximize program impact and sustainability.

  • Lead annual program planning and contribute to organizational strategy development.

  • Directly supervises programme and technical staff and provides matrix oversight to project teams.

Program Quality and Performance

  • Ensure timely and high-quality execution of program activities.

  • Oversee program monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems.

  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements, organizational policies, and applicable regulations.

  • Promote continuous quality improvement and adaptive management.

Business Development and Resource Mobilization

  • Lead the development of competitive proposals, concept papers, and technical narratives.

  • Identify and pursue new funding opportunities and strategic partnerships.

  • Support diversification of the organization's funding portfolio.

Partnerships and External Engagement

  • Build and maintain productive relationships with government entities, donors, academic institutions, professional associations, and implementing partners.

  • Represent Eyu-Ethiopia in national and international technical forums and coordination platforms.

  • Strengthen collaboration with stakeholders to advance organizational objectives.

People Management and Organizational Development

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to program teams.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous learning.

  • Support staff performance management and professional development.

  • Contribute to organizational capacity strengthening initiatives.

  • Oversee Programme budgets.
