Dispatch Clerk - Cape Town

Our client, a well-established organisation operating within the manufacturing and distribution industry, is seeking to employ an experienced Dispatch Clerk to join their team based in Parow Industria, Cape Town.

Requirements Qualifications

• Grade 12 Matric Certificate
• Relevant Certificate Qualification in Operations / Inventory & Warehousing / Procurement
• Minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Computer literacy – Microsoft Office Suite and MFGpro

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Daily Operational Activities

• Ensure daily delivery targets are met
• Ensure that finished product is correctly labelled and wrapped
• Ensure the correct procedure for deliveries is adhered to, including quality checks on consignments, issuing correct documentation, and on-time deliveries
• Ensure POD’s are correctly completed and distributed to relevant personnel for processing
• Interact sufficiently with other functional departments
• Ensure delivery schedules are correctly sequenced according to the open to dispatch report and TMS system
• Conduct daily inspections on delivery vehicles and forklifts, reporting deviations and scheduling repairs
• Ensure correct documentation is distributed by drivers
• Manage and coordinate consumables for daily consumption
• Ensure products are correctly bin transferred in the warehouse
• Monitor FDC stock daily and report discrepancies to the Supervisor immediately
• Ensure all security checks are conducted prior to loading of trucks

Product Quality & Customer Satisfaction

• Ensure all products are delivered in the correct quantity and at the right time
• Ensure products are safely loaded
• Ensure all finished pallets are sufficiently and correctly wrapped
• Ensure product collections are completed as per Returns procedure

Productivity Improvement

• Continuously search for opportunities to improve despatch processes and decrease lead times to customers

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Strictly enforce personnel discipline on safety issues
• Adhere to all PPE requirements inside the warehouse
• Ensure zero tolerance for any safety deviations
• Ensure all deviations are followed up and cleared on SHE Rep Inspection reports on a monthly basis

Hygiene & Housekeeping

• Ensure delivery vehicles are continuously cleaned and presentable
• Maintain high housekeeping standards within the warehouse
• Ensure safe stacking procedures are maintained
