Group Production Manager

Job Opportunity: Group Production Manager - Leading Citrus & Sugarcane farm? Location: Malalane, South Africa Company: Leading Production Farm My client is seeking a highly experienced, hands-on, and motivated individual for the position of Group Production Manager in Malalane. Key Qualifications: Tertiary Qualification: A BSc. Degree, or Honours, in horticulture, plant sciences, or agricultural-related fields. Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in agriculture, particularly in research and development and leadership roles. Skills: Familiarity with plant physiology, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), strategic modelling, and continuous improvement in fruit market strategies. Other Requirements: Innovative, entrepreneurial, and a team player. Passionate about team management and leadership. Strong presentation and communication skills. Knowledge of citrus and subtropical fruit trees; knowledge of sugarcane is an advantage. Excellent time management and self-management skills. Familiarity with MS Office and Outlook. Ability to manage long hours/overtime. Duties Include (but are not limited to): Managing all crop production from orchard/field to market. Implementing strategic approaches to optimize performance. Conducting trials and reporting on findings. Coordinating with packhouses, markets, and compliance teams to meet regulations. Managing research and development efforts to enhance crop growth. Analyzing agricultural data for effective decision-making. Driving innovation for sustainable practices and managing the harvest.
