Junior Rekenmeester / Junior Accountant

Minimum Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting environment
• Previous experience within the banking or financial services industry will be advantageous
• Articles not required
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Experience with accounting software and financial systems
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting functions and maintain accurate financial records
• Process and reconcile bank transactions and accounts
• Assist with monthly accounting processes and financial reporting
• Prepare and process journals, general ledger entries, and reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Assist with preparation of management reports and financial analysis
• Ensure accurate capturing and allocation of financial transactions
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies on accounts and reconciliations
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies, and financial procedures
• Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation when required
• Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders regarding financial queries
