Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Inspection & Diagnosis
- Inspect Hyundai cargo vehicles regularly to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Diagnose faults using diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and testing equipment.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure vehicles meet operational and safety standards.
- Identify worn or damaged components and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements.
- Test vehicle systems and components to ensure proper functionality after repairs.
Repair & Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance services including oil changes, lubrication, tire rotation, brake servicing, filter replacement, and fluid checks.
- Repair and replace defective parts such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, steering systems, batteries, and electrical components.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems in Hyundai cargo vehicles.
- Carry out welding, fabrication, and minor body repairs where necessary.
- Ensure regular servicing schedules are followed according to manufacturer and company standards.
- Respond promptly to vehicle breakdowns and emergency repair needs.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance work comply with safety regulations and company procedures.
- Maintain roadworthiness standards for all company vehicles.
- Follow workplace health and safety guidelines when using tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Ensure tools and workshop equipment are properly maintained and stored safely.
- Report recurring faults, unsafe conditions, or major repair requirements to management.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, spare parts used, and service schedules.
- Complete job cards, maintenance logs, inspection reports, and repair documentation accurately.
- Monitor and report spare parts inventory requirements
- Assist in planning maintenance schedules to minimize operational disruptions.
Team Support & Operations
- Work closely with drivers, transport supervisors, and operations staff to address vehicle-related concerns.
- Provide technical advice regarding vehicle handling and maintenance practices.
- Assist with training drivers on basic vehicle checks and preventive maintenance procedures when required
- Support workshop cleanliness, organization, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certificate, Diploma, or Technical qualification in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably working with Hyundai cargo vehicles or heavy-duty trucks.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, vehicle electrical systems, hydraulics, and mechanical repairs
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment and repair tools effectively.
- Good understanding of preventive maintenance practices and road safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and repair documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- A valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
