Role Overview:You will play a central role in driving engineering excellence, overseeing product design, and ensuring all solutions meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and performance. The position offers a blend of technical depth, project leadership, and team development.
Key Responsibilities:- Take full accountability for all design and engineering activities
- Oversee the integrity and validation of equipment designs and components
- Lead product development initiatives, including new designs and enhancements to existing offerings
- Review and approve production drawings and ensure alignment with manufacturing standards
- Prepare and contribute to technical tenders and proposals
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders, including conducting on-site technical visits
- Compile accurate Bills of Materials and product specifications
- Manage project timelines and progress using structured planning tools
- Provide mentorship, direction, and support to the engineering team
- Drive ongoing improvements in design processes, systems, and product performance
Requirements:- BSc Mechanical Engineering or higher qualification
- 5–10 years’ experience in a design engineering environment within manufacturing, mining, or heavy industry
- Proven experience working with Ansys for FEA analysis
- Proficiency in SolidWorks
- Strong understanding of structural and component analysis
- Well-developed organisational and project management abilities
- Advanced Excel and overall Microsoft Office proficiency
- Ability to perform under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Valid driver’s licence and own transport
