Main Function
- The Night Manager is responsible for overseeing all hotel operations during the night shift, ensuring smooth service delivery, guest satisfaction, safety, and compliance with operational standards.
- The role acts as the senior representative of management during overnight hours, handling guest concerns, supervising staff, and ensuring accurate end-of-day processes.
- The ideal candidate must be responsible, detail-oriented, and capable of managing operations independently during night hours.
Role Responsibilities
Night Operations Management:
- Oversee all hotel operations during the night shift.
- Ensure smooth functioning of front office, housekeeping, security, and maintenance activities.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all operational matters during the night.
- Ensure all departments operate efficiently and in line with company standards.
Guest Service and Satisfaction:
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests promptly.
- Ensure all guests receive professional and courteous service.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and resolve issues effectively.
- Manage late arrivals, early departures, and VIP guest requirements.
Financial and Night Audit Oversight:
- Supervise night audit processes and ensure accurate financial reconciliation.
- Review daily revenue reports, transactions, and system postings.
- Ensure all billing, payments, and documentation are accurate.
- Report discrepancies or irregularities to management.
Team Supervision:
- Supervise night shift staff including front desk, security, housekeeping, and maintenance personnel.
- Ensure staff are present, productive, and adhering to policies.
- Provide guidance and support to staff during night operations.
Safety, Security, and Compliance:
- Ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and hotel property.
- Monitor security operations and respond to incidents or emergencies.
- Conduct night inspections of the property to identify risks or irregularities.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and hotel policies.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and submit night shift reports detailing operations, incidents, and key activities.
- Maintain accurate logs of guest interactions, complaints, and resolutions.
- Document any operational issues for follow-up by day management.
Coordination and Communication:
- Ensure smooth handover between day and night shifts.
- Communicate important updates to relevant departments.
- Coordinate emergency responses and operational decisions when required.
Experience / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Hospitality Management or related field
- 5–8 years experience in hotel operations, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role
- Experience in front office or night audit operations is highly desirable
- Knowledge of hotel PMS and financial reconciliation processes
- Professional hospitality certifications are an added advantage.
