Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping & Financial Administration
- Process and maintain accurate accounting records for all dealership transactions
- Record and reconcile daily cashbooks, bank accounts, and financial transactions
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate allocation of transactions
- Process journals, accruals, prepayments, and provisions where required
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting procedures
Account Payable & Receivable- Assist with creditor and debtor administration
- Reconcile supplier and customer accounts
- Monitor outstanding balances and assist with query resolution
- Ensure accurate processing of invoices, credit notes, and payments
Bank & Cash Reconciliations- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations
- Reconcile cash receipts, EFT payments, and card transactions
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies promptly
Vehicle, Parts & Service Accounting Support- Assist with vehicle stock reconciliations and financial reporting
- Support the accounting processes relating to vehicle sales, parts, and service departments
- Reconcile manufacturer incentives, rebates, and supplier accounts where applicable
Financial Reporting- Prepare supporting schedules and reports for management accounts
- Assist with budget monitoring and expense tracking
- Provide financial information and reports as requested by management
- Maintain accurate records for audit and compliance purposes
Compliance & Internal Controls- Ensure compliance with dealership financial policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate filing and document management systems
- Support internal and external audit requirements
- Assist with VAT reconciliations and statutory reporting requirements
Stakeholder Support- Liaise with internal departments regarding financial queries
- Support the Dealership Accountant and Financial Manager with ad hoc accounting tasks
- Maintain professional relationships with suppliers, customers, and service providers
Minimum Requirements:- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field in the automotive industry
- Minimum 3–5 years' bookkeeping experience, preferably within the automotive or dealership environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Experience with dealership management systems such as, DMS, Evolve, Drive standard preferably
- Motor Industry experience Essential!!
