PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To ensure efficient and safe production operations by executing daily activities according to operational requirements, monitoring productivity, maintaining housekeeping standards, and recording production outputs. The role also promotes compliance with SHE policies and safe work procedures, supports staff training and development, and assists with breakdown repairs and other operational tasks as required by the HOD Manager.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

Production Outputs and Efficiencies

  • Execute daily operational activities efficiently and in accordance with operational requirements.
  • Accurately record and report production outputs.
  • Continuously monitor and manage staff productivity and performance.
  • Conduct in-house training and ongoing competency assessments to develop a multi-skilled workforce.
  • Maintain required housekeeping standards across all work areas.  

Health & Safety

  • Ensure continuous compliance with SHE policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Monitor adherence to prescribed PPE requirements and safe work standards in all operational areas.
  • Conduct risk assessments on new equipment, processes, and prior to performing repairs or maintenance activities.

General

  • Assist with all breakdown repairs on other equipment as instructed by HOD Manager.
  • Perform any additional ad hoc tasks as and when required by HOD Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

  • Grade 12 (NQF 4).
  • Recognized Production Management / Supervisory Diploma and or Certificate.
  • At least 5 years of proven line supervisory experience in a FMCG food processing and manufacturing environment.
  • Recognized Food Safety/HACCP training course completed.
  • Recognized Health and Safety training course completed.
  • Certified Poultry Meat Examiner course completed.
  • Certified Fire Tube Boiler Operator.                                                      
  • Recognized Disciplinary Procedures training course will be advantageous.
  • Computer Literacy. (Microsoft Office)
  • Namibian Citizen.
  • Valid Code BE driver’s license.
  • Proficient in English, being bilingual will be advantageous.
  • Willing and able to work, day/night shifts over time, alternating weekends and on Public Holidays as and when required.
