Production Operator

Employment Information

Minimum skills and experience required:

  • Matric
  • Preferable one-year relevant experience, preferably from automotive manufacturing or manufacturing industry

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to all Standard operating Procedures (SOP) and work instructions
  • Use the required personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Follow and adhere to standards applicable to abnormal conditions, including the “STOP CALL WAIT” rule.
  • Produce quality parts according to customer specifications
  • Ensures daily production targets are achieved.
  • Conduct routine inspections of parts according to stipulated standards to identify possible defects and escalate as required
  • Adhere to process to ensure that defective parts are isolated and placed in the designated area.
  • Embrace a continuous improvement mindset and actively participate in kaizen activities.
  • Complete documentation as may be required in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures and standards
  • Communicate updates to the Team Leader / Supervisor such as production status, identified issues or delays and other items that may impact on overall production
  • Maintain a good standard of housekeeping
  • Adhere to all Safety instructions and standards and adopts a safety conscious mindset
  • Report any unsafe conditions or faulty equipment immediately to the Team Leader/Supervisor.
  • Perform any reasonable activities/duties as may be required
  • Portray a professional image at all times and safeguard the interests of the company at all times.
Technical & Functional Competencies
  • Experience with hand tools
  • Experience with safety standards
  • Understands the importance of standardised work
  • Strong inclination towards achieving production targets
  • Ability to work independently and as part of team
  • Safety mindset
  • Adhere to reasonable instructions
