Key Responsibilities
Revit Modelling & Design

  • Develop and maintain detailed Revit models for fire sprinkler and fire protection systems.
  • Prepare coordinated 3D BIM models for sprinkler pipework, valves, pumps, tanks, and associated systems.
  • Produce installation drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, spool drawings, and as-built drawings.
  • Ensure all drawings and models are accurate, practical, and aligned with project requirements.
Coordination & Project Support
  • Coordinate fire protection services with architectural, structural, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing disciplines.
  • Attend coordination and project meetings when required.
  • Identify and resolve design clashes within BIM models.
  • Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and installation teams to support project execution.
Technical Responsibilities
  • Interpret engineering drawings, tender documents, and project specifications.
  • Assist with material take-offs and quantity calculations from Revit models.
  • Support hydraulic design and system layout requirements where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant SANS standards, fire protection regulations, and client specifications.
Documentation & Quality Control
  • Maintain drawing registers, revision controls, and project documentation.
  • Ensure all drawings are issued according to company procedures and project deadlines.
  • Update models and drawings according to site changes and approved revisions.
  • Assist with technical submissions and approval documentation.
Site & Operational Support
  • Conduct site visits and site measurements when required.
  • Assist site teams with technical queries and drawing interpretation.
  • Support commissioning and handover documentation processes.
Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12 / Matric.
  • Relevant Draughting, BIM, or CAD qualification.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Revit Draughtsperson within the fire protection, mechanical, or construction industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit (non-negotiable).
  • Strong understanding of fire sprinkler systems and fire protection layouts.
  • Experience producing coordinated BIM models and construction drawings.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license advantageous.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience within the fire sprinkler installation industry highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of SANS fire protection standards and regulations.
  • Experience with Navisworks and clash detection advantageous.
  • Understanding of hydraulic calculations and sprinkler system design advantageous.
