The Risk Analyst will assist
the Head of Enterprise and Operational Risk in identifying, measuring,
assessing, managing and mitigating Enterprise & Operational Risk across the
bank through the bank’s Risk Management Framework.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Liaise with Business Units and assist in the
implementation of action plans following various risk committees/forums of the
bank.
·
Work with Business units to improve efficiency
and effectiveness of Key Controls to ensure that Operational Risk is kept
within the risk appetite of the bank;
·
Compute the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) for
onward reporting to the relevant risk committee;
·
Monitor the Risk Weighted assets (RWA) to ensure
capital optimization;
·
Assist in the preparation of the annual ICAAP
report;
·
Perform root cause analysis on Operational Risk
(OR) incidents;
·
Assist in the development, compilation and
review of Risk Registers;
·
Assist in the preparation of various
risk-related reports and other regulatory reports;
·
Analyze and interpret operational risk trends
and predictors;
·
Pro-actively monitor various risk indicators:
·
Act as a Facilitator/Coach in the training of
Operational Risk Business Coordinators (ORBC);
·
Assist in the review of the bank’s policies on a
regular basis;
·
Conduct presentations at various risk committees
of the bank;
·
Follow-up on issues raised by Central Bank,
Auditors, etc.
·
Cultivate awareness and keeping updated on
emerging risks and new operational risk management practices in the banking
industry both locally and internationally.
·
Deliver training to Risk Champions.
·
Perform stress testing for Credit risk,
operational risk and interpret outcome of stress testing and present to
committees.
·
Deliver timely risk reports to committees and
Senior Management at short notice.
·
Work on risk reports for submission to
regulatory bodies and meet deadlines.
PREREQUISITES:
·
Degree in Accounting, Banking, Risk Management,
Finance from a recognized institution OR an alternative qualification from a
recognized university in a field of study relevant to the scope of work,
acceptable to the Bank.
·
At least 5 years of banking experience.
·
Ability to maintain high degree of integrity
and confidentiality.
SKILLS:
·
Good verbal and written communication and
reporting skills.
·
Well versed with regulatory guidelines.
·
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools with
command of Microsoft Excel at advanced level.
