Key Responsibilities for Sales and Marketing Officer Jobs in Lusaka The Sales and Marketing Officer will play a crucial role in driving business growth and enhancing brand visibility.
Responsibilities include:
- Identifying and engaging prospective corporate, institutional, and individual clients for car hire and tour services.
- Developing and maintaining a robust pipeline of leads through calls, visits, referrals, networking, and digital channels.
- Presenting company services effectively, preparing proposals or quotations in collaboration with relevant teams, and managing follow-ups to resolve enquiries.
- Converting qualified enquiries into confirmed bookings while striving to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Maintaining comprehensive and accurate records of prospects, client interactions, quotations, bookings, and follow-up activities.
- Assisting in planning and executing marketing campaigns to promote the fleet, travel options, and guided tours targeted at appropriate customer segments.
- Creating clear and engaging promotional content for approved channels and coordinating updates with management.
- Monitoring competitor activities, customer needs, and market trends to recommend actionable strategies for increasing enquiries and bookings.
- Building and sustaining professional relationships with clients and partners, responding promptly to inquiries, and addressing service feedback.
- Collaborating closely with reservations and operations teams to confirm availability, communicate client requirements, and ensure seamless service delivery.
- Preparing weekly activity summaries and monthly reports detailing leads, conversions, sales performance, and marketing initiatives.
- Qualifications and Skills Diploma in Sales and Marketing, Public Relations, or a related discipline; a degree is advantageous.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in sales or marketing roles.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Proficient computer skills with a proactive approach to organising and following up on leads.
- Experience in car hire, travel, tourism, or related service industries is preferred.
- Current registration or membership with the Zambia Institute of Marketing is a strong advantage.
- The successful candidate must comply with professional registration requirements prior to practising marketing.
