Staff Verification Officer

We are looking for a meticulous Staff Verification Specialist to join our team in Ikeja. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting background checks and verifying the credentials and personal details of prospective staff, ensuring that all new hires meet the organization’s standards. You will be crucial in confirming the accuracy of employment histories, addresses, criminal records, and educational qualifications to support the recruitment process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive background checks, including identity verification, address verification, criminal records, and employment history.
• Verify academic qualifications and certifications.
• Liaise with candidates, references, previous employers, and educational institutions for verification purposes.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements during the verification process.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all verification results and flag discrepancies when needed.
• Provide detailed reports to HR and management on verification outcomes.
• Handle candidate inquiries and resolve verification discrepancies professionally.
• Stay updated on industry standards and legal regulations regarding background checks.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in background verification, HR compliance, or similar roles.
• In-depth knowledge of background check processes and legal requirements for employment verification.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external contacts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and background screening software.
