Minimum Requirements
Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in Logistics or Supply Chain Management will be advantageous.
  • Forklift Operator Licence, Material Handling Equipment Certification, or OSHA-related Safety Credentials will be beneficial.
  • 2 to 4 years' experience within a warehouse, logistics, or supply chain environment.
  • An additional 1 to 3 years' experience in a supervisory, team lead, or shift leader role.
  • Experience within the food and beverage manufacturing industry will be advantageous.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, coach, schedule, and evaluate team performance.
  • Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Solid understanding of inventory control, cycle counting, receiving, picking, dispatching, and warehouse space optimisation.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, quality standards, and food safety requirements.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse.
  • Manage receiving, storage, picking, and dispatch activities.
  • Ensure all products are handled, stored, and distributed efficiently and accurately.
  • Ensure warehouse facilities and storage areas are clean, organised, and well maintained.
Inventory Management
  • Implement and monitor FIFO (First In, First Out) processes for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock availability while preventing overstocking and stock shortages.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee daily, monthly, and annual stock counts.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and inventory reconciliations to ensure stock accuracy.
  • Monitor inventory turnover and minimise excess, obsolete, and slow-moving stock.
  • Track supplier lead times and ensure adequate stock availability to support operational requirements.
Team Leadership
  • Allocate daily tasks and workloads to warehouse employees.
  • Supervise, coach, train, and develop team members.
  • Monitor employee productivity and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all warehouse operating procedures and safety regulations.
  • Conduct employee training and skills development initiatives.
Planning and Reporting
  • Develop and oversee annual, monthly, weekly, and daily inventory and production-related planning activities based on sales forecasts and stock requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate operational and inventory reports.
  • Escalate warehouse-related issues and recommendations to management.
  • Review and update operational documents, policies, manuals, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Safety, Quality and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Monitor the safe operation of forklifts and other warehouse machinery.
  • Report all food safety, quality, and compliance concerns or non-conformances to management.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the warehouse.
