This full-time position requires a skilled and safety-conscious operator to manage water bowser trucks for dust suppression and water delivery on site roads.
Position Overview:
Water Bowser Driver / Operator The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a water bowser truck to support construction, mining, and civil engineering projects by controlling dust and ensuring water supply delivery.
This role demands attention to detail, routine vehicle maintenance, and strict adherence to safety and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities for Water Bowser Driver Jobs in Solwezi Operate the water bowser truck to effectively suppress dust on haul roads, construction sites, and mining areas.
Inspect and maintain water sprays and the water cannon to ensure optimal performance. Perform daily pre-start and post-operation inspections of the vehicle, including checks on oil, water levels, brakes, tyres, and lights.
Maintain accurate daily logs documenting water volumes delivered and mileage covered. Report any mechanical issues or vehicle damage promptly to supervisors or the workshop team.
Comply with all site safety protocols, traffic regulations, and environmental guidelines. Qualifications and Experience Required Minimum of a Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
Valid Class C or CE driver's licence (equivalent to Code 10 or Code 14). Possession of a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) endorsement and Dangerous Goods certification.
Between 2 to 5 years’ experience operating heavy trucks or water bowsers in construction, civil engineering, or mining environments. Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to operate both left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive heavy trucks as required. Physically fit, sober-minded, safety-conscious, and capable of working shifts.
