Assistant Production Manager

Job Opportunity: Assistant Production Manager – Macadamia and Sugarcane Farm ? Location: Malelane ? Salary: R25000-R35000, Housing to rent, Work Bakkie, Cellphone, Laptop, Provident fund – 4% Employer Contribution & 4 % Employee Contribution Key Responsibilities: Labour Management: Oversee and manage staff effectively. Planning & Administration: Coordinate and report on all production activities throughout the year. Irrigation Management: Monitor and schedule both automated and manual irrigation systems. Crop Management: Coordinate planting, relocation, pruning, spraying, harvesting, and packaging to maintain productivity and eliminate bottlenecks. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition and initiate maintenance when needed. Cleanliness: Control bush encroachment and pollution on the property. Pest & Disease Management: Proactively manage pest and disease control for crops. Safety: Apply safety policies and recommend or provide necessary training. Inventory Management: Oversee fertiliser and pesticide allocation and application. Security: Maintain fences, gates, and alarm systems to prevent crime. Requirements: Relevant agricultural qualifications (advantageous). Proven experience in Macadamia and Sugarcane farming. Effective planning, reporting, and problem-solving skills. Strong self-management and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. Fluency in Afrikaans and English, with Swazi and/or Portuguese as a distinct advantage. Valid driver’s license is a must.
