Position Overview

The Business Development Manager drives growth, revenue, and strategic partnerships across Uspire’s business units. The role ensures the alignment of sales and marketing efforts with the company’s long-term strategic objectives.

Reporting Structure

  • Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
  • Supervises: Assistant Business Development Manager, B2B Executive, B2C Executive, and Business Support Executive (as relevant to BD activities)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business growth initiatives and identify new opportunities across service lines.
  • Develop and execute sales, marketing, and client acquisition strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and institutional partners.
  • Supervise business development teams to achieve set targets and KPIs.
  • Lead proposal development, bids, and presentations to clients.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform strategy.
  • Promote Uspire’s brand visibility through digital and offline channels.
  • Coordinate with Finance, Consulting, and Publishing units for integrated service delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • At least 7 years’ experience in business development, consulting, or sales leadership.
  • Member of the Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM)
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed revenue and client growth targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
