Diesel Mechanic — Commercial Agricultural Business
A large commercial agricultural business is seeking an experienced and reliable Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair tractors, vehicles and agricultural machinery across its farming operations.
Key responsibilities
· Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems and electrical faults.
· Service tractors, trucks, generators and other farm machinery.
· Carry out preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and equipment downtime.
· Respond to breakdowns and undertake repairs on farms.
· Maintain accurate servicing records and identify spare parts requirements.
· Advise operators on proper equipment use and daily maintenance.
· Maintain a safe, organised workshop and take care of tools and equipment.
· Travel between farms within Southern Malawi as required.
Requirements
· Recognised qualification or trade certificate in Diesel Mechanics or a related field.
· Proven practical experience repairing diesel engines and agricultural machinery.
· Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
· Experience with tractor hydraulics, transmissions and electrical systems.
· Ability to work independently and prioritise urgent repairs.
· Reliable, safety-conscious and attentive to detail.
· Valid driving licence and willingness to travel within Southern Malawi.
· Welding and fabrication skills would be an advantage.
