Financial Accountant

Our client, a dynamic and growing player in the global wine industry, with a portfolio of respected wine brands and a strong presence in both local and international markets, is looking for a detail-oriented and driven Financial Accountant to join their Finance team based in Stellenbosch.

The ideal candidate is passionate about accuracy, compliance, and working in a dynamic wine industry environment, with excellent attention to detail and deadline driven.

The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): *Accounting: Manage bank and balance sheet reconciliations, month-end journals, fixed assets, depreciation, and sales commission calculations to support accurate financial reporting. *Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT, payroll, and statutory returns, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements. *Stock: Coordinate stock takes, stock adjustments, and transfers between locations to maintain accurate inventory records. *Forex: Process and reconcile incoming foreign currency transactions and related banking documentation. *Support: Assist with audits, payroll, banking administration, system integrations, and provide support to the wider finance team. *General: Provide ad hoc finance and operational support as required.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:
• Financial Accounting Diploma or BCom Degree;
• SAIPA (Registered PA);
• Minimum 5 years’ financial and administration experience in a financial corporate environment;
• Previous experience in Business Central will be beneficial;
• Working experience in the Wine industry will be beneficial;
• Own, reliable transport is essential for this role.
