Junior Engineer: Packhouse Operations

Our client, an established agricultural and food production business situated in Clanwilliam, is looking to appoint a motivated and hands-on individual to support systems improvement, process optimisation, and operational efficiency initiatives for their vegetable packhouse operations.

This role is ideally suited to a recent graduate or early-career candidate who is eager to gain practical exposure in a fast-paced operational environment and who enjoys working with both systems and people.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Production Manager and operational teams to assist with improving processes, refining systems, collecting and analysing data, and supporting continuous improvement projects across the business.

Key responsibilities will include (but not be limited to): *Assist with analysing operational processes and identifying improvement opportunities *Support the refinement and implementation of operational systems and workflows *Collect, capture, and analyse operational data *Assist with reporting, KPI tracking, and process monitoring *Work closely with operational teams on the floor to understand day-to-day challenges and support practical solutions *Support process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives *Assist with maintaining system accuracy and operational reporting *Participate in problem-solving and improvement projects across different operational areas.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Degree or Diploma in Industrial Engineering (or a related engineering discipline);
• Previous exposure to manufacturing, agricultural, packhouse, or operational environments would be advantageous;
• Strong MS Excel skills;
• Good analytical and problem-solving ability;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
• Willingness to work in a hands-on operational environment.
