Key Responsibilities
 
Sales & Business Development

  • Achieve agreed monthly and annual commercial premium sales targets.
  • Maintain a closing rate of at least 25% on new business quoted per month.
  • Monitor new business loss ratios to ensure they remain below 60%.
  • Identify and sign up a minimum of 5 new select brokers per year.
  • Identify and unlock new business opportunities within the existing broker base.
 
Broker & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the organisation and its broker network.
  • Maintain and develop positive, professional relationships with brokers, internal staff, and management.
  • Communicate product and process updates to brokers to ensure they are well-informed and confident in their dealings with the organisation.
  • Arrange and conduct broker training as required, in collaboration with the internal training department.
 
Reporting & Administration
  • Report on portfolio performance in respect of sales activities to the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Discuss broker performance in line with new business targets and sales objectives.
  • Collaborate with all internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery to the broker network.
 
Qualifications & Experience
 
  • Grade 12 / Matric (essential).
  • NQF Level 4 Short-Term Insurance qualification (120–150 credits) — obtained or currently studying towards (essential).
  • Higher Certificate in Short-Term Insurance — NQF Level 5 or higher (highly advantageous).
  • Successfully passed RE5 — Representative Exam (essential).
  • Registered on the FSCA Register with confirmed DOFA date (essential).
  • Minimum of 3 years' commercial insurance experience (essential).
  • Relevant experience within short-term insurance sales (advantageous).
  • Knowledge of current market trends, competitor landscape, and industry dynamics (advantageous).
  • Experience on the TIAL Operating System / System A (highly advantageous).
  • Computer literate — Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license and own vehicle (essential).
