The Senior Risk Analyst will assist the Head of Enterprise & Operational
Risk and Chief Risk Officer in identifying, measuring, assessing, managing and
mitigating Enterprise-Wide Risks including Operational Risks across the bank
through its Risk Management Policy, Framework and Regulator’s guidance notes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Liaise with Business Units and assist in the
implementation of action plans as approved by various risk committees/forums of
the bank
·
Work with Business units to improve efficiency
and effectiveness of Key Controls to ensure that Operational Risk is kept
within the risk appetite of the bank;
· Perform control testing activities, as a
continuous process, to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of key
controls, including the robustness of risk management processes;
·
Identify and assess risks (including top and
emerging) across the bank,and factor the emergence of new risks into the
control testing plan accordingly.
·
To assist the bank in contingency planning and
execution.
·
Compute the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) for
onward reporting to the relevant risk committee;
·
Carry – out periodic CAR related stress tests;
·
Implement the stress testing framework;
·
Monitor the Risk Weighted assets (RWA) to ensure
capital optimization;
·
Assist in the preparation of the annual ICAAP
report;
·
Preparation of RBS reports and ALCO related
reports;
·
Perform root cause analysis on Operational Risk
(OR)incidents;
·
Assist in the development, compilation and
review of Risk Registers;
·
Assist in the preparation of various
risk-related reports and other regulatory reports;
·
Analyze and interpret operational risk trends
and predictors;
·
Pro-actively monitor various risk indicators:
·
Act as a Facilitator/Coach in the training of Operational
Risk Business Coordinators (ORBC);
·
Assist in the review of the bank’s policies as
and when received;
·
Conduct presentations at various risk
committees of the bank;
·
Follow-up on issues raised by inspectors;
·
Assist in Policy/Procedure/Process reviews and
drafting;
·
Provide training on risk related matters
including fraud prevention policy as and when required;
·
Cultivate awareness and keep updated on emerging
risks for the bank in the banking industry both locally and internationally.
PREREQUISITES:
·
Degree in Accounting, Banking, Risk Management, Finance,
Mathematics, from a recognized institution OR an alternative qualification from
a recognized university in a field of study relevant to the scope of work,
acceptable to the Bank
·
At
least 5 years of banking experience in
risk management, internal controls/audit, or a related field, preferably within
the financial services industry.
·
Knowledge of Risk Frameworks: Familiarity
with Basel, COSO, and other regulatory frameworks governing risk management.
·
Well versed banking practices and applicable regulatory guidelines.
SKILLS:
·
Good
verbal, written communication, reporting and analytical skills
·
Proficient
in Microsoft Office tools with an intermediate command of Microsoft Excel;
·
Show resilience and be able to work under
pressure within set deliverables; and
·
Ability to maintain high degree of honesty, integrity
and confidentiality.
