Position: Dental Surgeon
Reports to: Medical Director
Location: Kitwe Polytech Hospital, Kitwe

Job Purpose:

Provide oral health services and appropriate management to patients.

Principal Duties:

• Conduct timely oral examinations, investigations, initial treatment and appropriate consultations to provide quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate oral health clinical records to support care and clinical performance.

Responsibilities & Decision Making:

• Follow patient and staff safety guidelines and account for departmental resources.
• Make clinical decisions concerning patient care.
• Recognise that clinical errors can lead to poor care, permanent disability or loss of life.

Education, Experience and Skills:

• Full Grade 12 or Form V School Certificate.
• Dental surgery qualification (BDS or equivalent) plus a postgraduate qualification, as specified in the supplied job description.
• Ability to write technical papers and communicate in English; integrity, initiative and empathy.

Work Environment:

Ward and clinic settings; moderate physical and substantial mental effort, with potential exposure to infections.
